| This crag is in a splendid position overlooking the salt marshes of Burry Inlet. Being on the north flank of the Gower it offers shelter from SW winds which can make climbing very unpleasant on the more well-known southern crags. Access would be difficult if there happened to be a very high tide. It is necessary to cross a barbed wire fence to reach the crag, but there is a good spot adjacent to a contorted hawthorn tree dirctly below the crag.
The routes are all very similar, and don't generally follow good natural lines but the climbing is pleasant enough. The limestone is solid and rough with good friction. The crag is an easy-angled slab of largely compact rock, but on the routes we did there was more good pro than you'd think looking up from below. Rog Wilko - 06/Apr/10 |
