Whilst walking around Misurina you can't help but notice the pale east face of Monte Popena Basso rising up to the west. The east face catches the sun for much of the day and hosts
a number of short but enjoyable routes. Most of these are on good rock and at a relatively amenable grade. The approach is steep and fairly unpleasant towards the end, but this is more than compensated for by the idyllic setting overlooking Lago di Misurina, coupled with the uncomplicated descent. The routes are mostly well equipped with fixed pegs and many of the belays have cemented rings. A good crag for those seeking shorter routes or looking for a half- day's climbing.
The climbs can be easily accessed and seen from Misurina.
Access is from an unmarked path behind the Misurina Hotels carpark. (Small white concrete building is a good landmark). Stay on it and it takes you to the far right hand side of the crag where it then traverses back left under the routes.
