Crag features

This is designed to be a more comprehensive guide to the High Rock area at Honister, which consists of two large boulders. The original page that includes these boulders can be found here http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag.php?id=2817 , however this is lacking in many routes and so this page aims to go into more depth.

The High Rock area consists of two large Rhyolite boulders which offer excellent friction and pleasant climbing. Often bold, most routes will benefit from several mats and spotters, or should you be lacking a beanie hat then a rope may suffice. The accuracy of grades varies but all the routes are all worth while.

The Upper boulder is characterised by a large undercut at its front, along the lip of which several routes are based.

The Lower boulder consists mainly of a face that comes to a small curling overhang at its top.

The Boulders are easily visibile from the road, and can be reached with 10 minutes of walking from the road.

A highly recommened venue, away from the hustle and bustle.
