The crag consists of two main outcrops separated by a chimney too wide to bridge. The confusing thing is that the Western Block is divided into two summits by a narrower chimney. Ropes may be more of a hindrance than a help since the routes spiral around the towers.
Please note the Soar Mill Cove Hotel no longer allow parking at their site for anyone other than customers, but they do an excellent cream tea! There is a very limited amount of parking on the road in the village of Higher Soar, or the recommended National Trust car park at East Soar. From either the village or the National Trust car park, follow the road to the hotel. Go through the footpath gate nearly opposite the hotel and climb to the brow of the hill (straight ahead past the sign to Bolberry down). When you meet the field boundary, follow it (left if necessary) down a steep hill and left again. Walk 100m and the short path to the crag will be obvious ahead. Alternatively if pushing through overgrowth and gorse bushes is your thing, once through the gate opposite the hotel, contour the brow of the hill until you reach a rocky ridge and descend this to the crag.
