Approach notes

Above the village of Glynfach, southwest of Cymmer. Follow the A4225 out of Pontypridd, heading for Porth. Pass through Trehafod to a roundabout by the Rhondda Heritage Park Hotel. Continue straight onto Porth, but where the road veers right, bear left. About a mile further on, the main road bears right, but bear left. The road swings steeply left up a hill and past a metal bridge. Immediately after the bridge, turn left into Glyn Street. After 100m, turn right and park. A path leads up to the right of some flats, eventually arriving at the crag. If on foot, get the train to Porth, walk over towards Cymmer, and follow the directions as above.

Please be aware that a direct route up the steep hill may not be possible due to the lack of a good path combined with the overgrown brachen and thorny bushes. It may be better to head left, past a grate in the ground under a few tress, until the path doubles back on itself at the top of the hill where a proper path can be found. Follow this rightward until a fence is reached and then carefully drop back down the hill. Find a scree slope and the crag can be found on the right. This will take longer but will be safer. Once at the crag a path may be seen to descend which couldn't be seen from below. If possible, use Google Maps for exact location on hillside.
