On the southern end of Fan Hir a series of streams cross the ridge. The left hand (nearest the road) of these forms an interesting 25 m pitch. Other short ice falls can be found further north along the ridge.
Park on the disused section of the A4067 near the Tafarn Y Garreg Inn. (Don not use the pub car park opposite). Follow the path alongside the pub car park to a wooden bridge over the river, continue until a wall./fence is crossed onto the open mountain, strike up and right to reach the first stream. Scramble up this, easily at first until two steepish steps are found. Climb these finishing up the obvious chimney.
