Crag features

A well concealed suntrap offering short walls and cracks, plus some superb hard roof climbs. Played upon by locals for years, it has now been transformed into an interesting 21st century sport crag.

The crag faces south and west and is sheltered. The rock does not seep much and dries well, but the west wall especially takes run-off after rain and the place can feel dank in cool humid conditions.

Approach notes

Park at a free car park next to the Waterfall cafe which is open all year and serves good food at reasonable prices. Pass the cafe and waterfall, and follow the steps and then the river upstream to the crag.

Bring welly boots for the river crossing - it is often tanking over the bridge.

Height restriction on car park 2.0 metres. Transporter van won’t fit.

This crag is currently fenced off/closed due to building works. August 2021. Looks like this may be the case for a few more months.

Great crag climbed in November 2014 found 1 bolt a bit loose but didn't have any tools to tighten it 3rd route from left 3rd bolt up just underneath the small overhang

An idyllic venue. So pleasant that it is easy to overlook the two huge tyres that sit under the overhang! Maybe I was tired after too much climbing this week and maybe I'm getting old, but the F5's felt much harder than F5's!!

excellent crag, impressive lines through the roof with some good easier climbs to the sides. well bolted throughout very picturesque!
