Rachel seconding the final pitch of Firesword, high up on the immaculate face of Dragon Buttress © Emma Alsford
One of the best crags in the area - This excellent north and west facing crag is situated near the bottom of the Samazar Valley, just before the Waterfall Walls and opposite Safinah and The Fortress. It is not seen from the main valley track and is best viewed from Ogogn. There are single pitch routes as well as multi-pitch routes up to 5 pitches long. Either abseil off or take a pleasant ridge scramble along the top of the main buttress from the longer routes to descend. Top quality routes throughout on immaculate rock.
The easiest approach is to park in Tamdakrt in an open area by some electricity pylons and follow a faint but good path north at first, towards a pink house, and then by contouring left along the hillside (cairned). Head towards the collapsing mud/stone brown house and just above it pass through a notch in the ridge, where the path descends and traverses the base of the cliffs.
Approach time: 10 mins
