There is a loose flake on pitch 6 of Giant's Crawl near the belay - extreme care is needed.

Seasonal Restrictions

Dates: 1 March to 30 June

Reason: Nesting Birds

Peregrines have been known to nest on the upper section of B Buttress, above Giants Crawl as well as C Buttress. The last time the birds were known to nest was 2014, but if visiting the crag early in the season please be aware that they could return and report to the BMC if birds are seen nesting.

Rockfax Description
A strenuous but well-protected route that tackles the crack and corner-line up the middle of the buttress. Start below the corner at a belay reached via a short scramble.
1) 5a, 17m. Climb the corner to a belay on the left.
2) 5c, 20m. Take the steep cracks in the wall to gain the next corner - strenuous - and follow this to a grassy ledge.
3) 25m. Climb the chimney and cracks to easy ground and belay.
Scrambling remains to the top of the buttress. © Rockfax

βeta: One of the useful jammed blocks in the crux section is loose, gave me a fright when I pulled on it. Be cautious as it would either fall onto you or straight on to the belay ledge

βeta: Replaced the ab station at the top with good tat, a sling and a new million. Tested and didn’t fall to my death like Gandalf, so all good.

βeta: The ab station at the top of P2 doesn’t look safe - very old tat and rusty metalware. Topping out is a much better bet…
