Hill features

Beinn Mhòr is the furthest South of the three biggest hills on South Uist. With a peak of 620m it is the highest point on all the Uists and offers some stunning views. The north facing Heileasdale Buttresses sits just South of the summit. There are seven distinct buttresses split by six gullies. The buttresses are numbered 1 to 7 from left to right and the gullies 1 to 6. In summer the gullies tend to be slimy and vegetatious and would be much more enjoyable in good winter conditions (rare in this location). There is a Grade 1 scramble on the North-East Ridge of Beinn Mhòr; see Highland Scrambles North.

Documentation of the routes is sparse and some grades are unknown currently.
