Hill features

There are three crags on this conspicuous small hill which along with its partner Beannan a' Tuath, lies between the entrance to Glen Raonasgail and Loch Suaineabhal. The hill contains a fair amount of rock. An area of slabs on the northwest side is prominent and can be seen from the road along the coast. There is also a small buttress beneath the west top and a good crag tucked away around the back a short distance away.

Approach notes

Turn south off the B8011 just over the bridge across the river 1.8km past the shop at Timsgarry. Follow the road to Loch Suaineabhal and then go up the hill to park beside the Uig water treatment plant at Loch a' Lighe Beag.

Walk up the track on the east side a short way then break off right down to the loch to gain the next lochan, Loch Deireadh Langa, on a vague ATV track following a line of intermittant posts and manholes marking the line of a buried pipeline. This continues past the west side of Loch a' Bheannan to follow its burn west for 400m and then south into the narrow glen between Beannan a' Deas and Flodrasgairbhe Mòr. The Northwest Face lies above the burn at the entrance to the glen. South Crag is reached by continuing to Loch Bealach Euna Clibh, then going along its east shore to the end around the back to climb the hillside above two old sheilings, possibly beehive dwellings, to reach the crag. Summit Buttress is some 5-10 mins from here.
