The best bit - about 100m - is near the Neston Village end - easy walk in from Bushell Road. Rock like Pex. The further you go along the deeper the cutting gets but the rock deteriorates and the dampness increases.Sandstone walls with pockets, ridges, smears, cracks, pebbles; and almost always just vertical. Monster traverses, or single problems but the top outs are overgrown and need regular strimming.

Approach notes

Access is via the footpath that runs along the old railway line, frequented by people, dogs, horses and all manner of sunday afternoon perambulators.

12 years after the last comment and just had a makeover Sep 2022! The best bit is near the Neston Village end - easy walk in from Bushell Road. Rock like Pex. The further you go along the deeper the cutting gets but the rock deteriorates and the dampness increases.

Well, if you actually read the description on the other site you'd have known that! I think it's a bit of a shame that soem people are so ready to dismiss these. Why not actually get involved, take over, make a traverse, etc etc etc, like the lads have done at grange hill and secret garden?

Very slow to dry out in wet weather, so avoid for a few days after rain.

Hi Duncan. What sort of grades are the routes?
DaveWarren - 22/Sep/09
Hmmm, no, I think it is you who needs YOUR head checking, or more likely, your eyes opening! When you say you couldn't see a single line, what is it that you're looking for exactly? There are hundreds of possiblities here, surely you can see that? NO? What are you expecting, orange resin holds with stainless bolts through them?
Dnmn - 21/May/09
you need your head checkin , i couldn't see a single route or traverse , plus 1 foot of water at the base of thw wall ???
