Although somewhat overshadowed by its more imposing neighbour, Crowden Great, Brockholes reaches a respectable height of almost 30m in places. On the whole, the rock is sound, although care should be taken on some of the finishes and sound belays are often a long way back from the cliff-top.
Its sheltered position and southwesterly outlook make it a pleasant place to climb and combined with the tremendous panorama across Crowden Brook to Laddow, it is worth an afternoon or evening visit.
There is extensive parking by Crowden Youth Hostel in Longdendale. Follow the path northwards to reach the quarry.
