Fine grained fell Sandstone, boulders facing all directions, rock quality varies from poor to excellent.

Approach notes

The land to the N of the fence is CROW land, owned by the Forestry Commission (part of Kielder Forest). The land to the S of the fence is privately owned.

Best Approach is to cycle up the Forestry track which passes Black Lyne House bothy. can cycle up to within 800m of crag this way.
