The crag and croft are actually called Port Lair. The croft is private property but the crag is freely accessible. Please respect the privacy of any occupants and avoid contaminating the water supply (small stream). There are numerous outcrops on the left skyline but most are a bit disappointing for climbing. The best nearby crags are Creag Alligan (March burn crag) a few minutes walk towards Alligan and Diabaig. These crags have all been thoroughly scrambled over since the 1950's. There are few sea cliff opportunities here with the exception of a large 100ft cliff 500m west of the croft, this is where some of Highlander was filmed. DerwentDiluted - 21/Nov/07 |
