Hill features

A contender for the most impressive mountain in Scotland, Liathach forms a long ridge of several summits, dominating the north flank of Glen Torridon. The tiered sandstone crags of the southern flank contrast with the deep sculpted corries hidden away to the north, while the crest in between offers one of the most celebrated Scottish ridge traverses, on which the harder scrambling may be optional, but a head for heights is mandatory. In winter conditions the traverse of Liathach is a grade II mountaineering route, and emphatically not for non-climbing walkers.

There are two separate Munros, Spidean a' Choire Leith and Mullach an Rathain. The fun bit is linking them, via the infamous pinnacles of Am Fasarinen!

The northern corries of Liathach are home to fantastic winter climbing of all grades, and some exciting scrambling and mountaineering routes.
