Climbs 6
Rocktype Basalt
Altitude 158m a.s.l
Small area in downtown Eugene. Just up the street from Crux rock gym. Despite its small size it has a great concentration of cracks. The basalt columns are all trad and TR lines that have many bolted anchors at top.
The Columns get afternoon to evening sun and can be crowded with the afterwork crowds. It is a great place to practice crack technique and leading. Most of the climbs are finger to hand cracks and fall in the 5.8 to 5.10 range and fairly short. A few thin face climbing routes and aretes. The locals will tell you about the "off" holds to make the climbs more challenging.
