Of the various crags near Gurnard's Head, Pedn Kei West is the most popular, with a number of good routes, many non-tidal. An awkward approach and winter seepage should be borne in mind.
Take the B3306 St. Ives - Pendeen road to the Gurnard's Head Hotel and park on the verge opposite the hotel. Walk down the lane to the right of the hotel, past cottages, and follow a signed footpath towards the coast, taking the higher, left-hand path where it splits. Turn west above the neck of the headland of Gurnard's Head and walk for 50m until a low wall is crossed. Continue for 150m before striking down steep grassy slopes with care. The final section is very steep, but manageable and leads to ledges. Scramble down the north end to reach Pedn Kei West.
