Windy Zawn is the eastern shore of Porthmeor Cove. A geological feature of great note, it was formed when a small offshoot of the main Land's End Granite intruded pre-existing rocks, fracturing them and leaving two distinct granite cupolas surrounded by darker killas, criss-crossed by granite veins. The area is a geological SSSI and should be respected as such.
Approach Porthmeor Cove by following the right-of-way from the B3306, which starts just east of a cattle grid with limited parking. Follow the path down the south side of the valley below Porthmeor Farm. From the cove, follow the coast path north for 400m until the path bends sharply right and uphill just before a lichen-covered tower of killas, the Porthmeor Pinnacle. Follow a vague path to the sea to reach the ragged rim of the zawn.
