Carn Sperm and Carn Boel make up the distinctive headland 1.5km southeast of Land's End and northwest of Mill Bay or Nanjizal. The area boasts some delightful and amenable lower-grade climbing on Carn Sperm while the forbidding northwest wall of Carn Boel offers some tough and committing extremes. The upper tier of Carn Boel has a number of good quality, easily accessible routes unaffected by tidal considerations. Solitude guarenteed.
From Land's End, take the coast path that runs southeast from the car park passing Pordenack Point on the way. A kilometre beoyond Pordenack Point, leave the path above a steep cavernous zawn. Carn Boel is on the left of the zawn (facing out) with Carn Sperm on the right. The deep zawn between them is known as the Lion's Den, possibly from the 'lion's head' profile of Carn Boel as seen from the east.
