The Aiguilles Rouges live up to their name at sunrise © Marek

Crag features

The Aiguilles Rouges de Triolet are located in the Italian Val Ferret. They are the lower part of a long ridge (the Monts Rouges de Triolet) that leads to the Aiguille de Triolet and lies between the Triolet and Pre de Bar glaciers. The Aiguilles Rouges de Triolet contain a number of long bolted rock climbs (up to 750m in length). The longest routes are those on the Punta 3289m (Les Chamois Volants and Kermesse Folk) but at the other extreme there are also single pitch routes.

The routes described here so far are only a fraction of those that are available in the area - the Rifugio Dalmazzi helpfully provides topos for the routes on it's website (http://www.rifugiodalmazzi.com/vies_i.html). Even if you are not staying at the refuge it is well worth popping in to ask for advice on finding the starts of the climbs, descent routes etc - they area very helpful.

Oct 2022 update: The hut has been shut in recent years

Approach notes

Drive or take the bus to the top of the Val Ferret. Take the path to the Rifugio Dalmazzi (~4k, ~900m of ascent). The climbs are on your right as you walk up from the refuge towards the Triolet glacier.
