A magical high fell location... with an arduous approach to deter all but the most worthy. Still need to add an assortment (~10) of easier problems climbed along the ridge of Long Crag.
Park at the bottom of Hardknott (Eskdale side), there's a decent lay-by in the trees at the base off Hardknott gill just before the road levels off. From the lay-by take the bridleway that crosses the gill via a footbridge and winds up the side of Harter Fell. Once it levels off (before you reach the plantation below the Harter Gold boulders) cross the open moss to the right (west) via a thin track- 2.5km from parking. This goes past the blocks (on the right after about a kilometre) on its way to dissect Green Crag and The Pike (summits). A bit of a slog throughout.
