Crag features

One of the few climable venues in the Troodos hills. Even so it is quite loose in places so a helmet is strongly advised for climber and belayer.

Approach notes

From Platres take the turn-off sign-posted to Troodhitissa Monastery. After climbing for approx 6km the road levels out and has a sharp left bend. The climbing is on the left.

took a group to climb and abseil, the rocky climb down to the platform is an easy scramble but a bit loose, can be belay protected from road fence uprights if wanted, the abseil platform has new bolts to set up from, and it advisable to set up your system with a rope over the metal beam to stop the abseiler from dropping too quick as the metal face over the drop is fairly slippery even in stickies and it very dry. the crag underneath has 4 routes, but some is very loose, and 3 out of 4 are fairly hard for beginners, lovely and cool venue with easy parking, if descending in down the slope opposite the first 10m are very slippy
