Crag features

The Lagazuoi is one of the most famous mountains in the Dolomites particularly from a historical perspective. During the First World War the Austrians controlled the summit and hence commanded the best strategic position of the Falzarego Pass. The Italians unable to remove the Austrians decided to dig a tunnel all the way up through the mountain in an attempt to blow the Austrians off the summit. Today over 3km of tunnel exist and it is possible to walk through them in the summer (bring a headtorch). There is also some good climbing as well!

Approach notes

All the climbs can be accessed from the cable car carpark beneath the Lagazuoi. It is worth taking the cablecar for the Lagazuoi North climbs.
