Crag features

The South Chief is a major cornerstone of Squamish climbing, packed with great climbing across single and multi-pitch routes. This is the sunny more gentle side of the Chief, an energetic and at times intense place, noisy with the throngs of gondola tourists, climbers, campers, hikers, adrenaline junkies, and ceaseless traffic racing along the Highway.

The region covers three areas: Malamute, Bulletheads, and the Shannon Area. The Malamute has many good climbs: single-pitch, sport, and multi-pitch on impeccable stone. The Bulletheads are the large cluster of stacked, interlinked crags that buttress the southern end of the Chief, and the largest climbing centre in this region. The Shannon Area contains the high cliffs of Shannon Falls and the Papoose, with many high-angle face climbs and easy cracks.

All routes are described from left-to-right as in line with UKC, and thus the order of routes and crags may not always be identical to the guidebooks.
