Heather Bunnet Boulder © Colin McKerrell

Crag features

The west slopes of Ben More, in Benmore Glen, contain numerous single and clusters of boulders. It's currently extremley under developed, and posibilties exist at every grade.

The few problems climbed so far are centered around the Heather Bunnet boulder, but there are posibilities the whole way up the glen.

The rock is solid schist. New problems require a stiff brushing, and the ground is generally boggy as it's at the bottom of the Ben More slopes.

All current problems have excellent landings.

Approach notes

Park on the verge of the south side of the A85, just east of Benmore Farm. The approach is the same as the start of the Munro, Ben More, initially.

A small path through a gate at the side of the road leads to the Landrover track. Follow this, steeply at first, up through another gate . After around 20 minutes, the munro path strikes off the Landrover track steeply (signposted). Ignore this and continue on the road less steeply south west for another 20 minutes, till the track peaters out.

Heather Bonnet cluster is above the track at this point (grid reference NN 418 238), 45 minutes.
