Crag features

The quarry has recently been bolted (2021) with some new lines along with the old trad ones which have been retro bolted, making this a useful little sport crag.

This is the obvious quarry above the road on the Whinlatter Pass between Braithwaite and Lorton.

FRCC pdf guide here: https://www.frcc.co.uk/mini-guide-downloads/

There is some bouldering with topos found here: https://27crags.com/crags/scawgill-bridge-quarry/topos/sector-1-29595

They mainly comprise bouldering out the start of the routes plus a few others, handy if you've forgotten your ropes perhaps!

Conditions: The quarry is comprised of reasonable quality slate which is quick to dry on the Arete Butttess but the Kong Wall on the right has some natural drainage, so is wet for much of the winter and seeps after days of rain.

Approach notes

Park in the layby (4-6 cars) adjacent to the bridge on the Whinlatter Pass. Go through the gate and follow the path to the right of the gravel pit. Above the gravel, follow the path rightwards for 100 metres (ignore short cuts up scree) and then turn back left along a path through gorse to the crag.
