Crag features

An old limestone quarry long since abandoned and now mostly frequented by dog walkers and youths. There is quite a lot of rock behind the ivy, up to about 8m tall. Whilst there is potential for microroutes, the top has a wire mesh to stabilise the ground and so it would need lower offs; robably better as a bouldering venue. The cleanest section of rock lies directly opposite the entrance the the park. Naturally, as the quarry has not been climbed on previously, take care with potentially loose rock.

Quite a lot of nettles in the Summer and Autumn so wear long trousers to get to the base of the rocks.

Approach notes

Just off Entry Hill, Take Entry Hill Park. The road is quite wide and best to park next to the care home opposite the cul-de-sac. Walk up this and into the park.

Access Advice

The land is owned by Bath and NE somerset council so there is public access to the quarry but the council's views to climbing on it are unknown. Best to keep a low profile, although this is tricky as it is used by the public and you are clearly in view.
