Crag features

A good easy access two stage cascade which is possible to set up top ropes on the first pitch. Main cascade has a 30m fall followed by a 60m fall (which can be split into tow 30m pitches). it is possible to set up top ropes on some subsidary ice/mixed lines to the left of the main fall in the first bay.

Approach notes

From the centre of Les Houches (tourist information etc.) head towards Bellevue and Prarion base stations. Take the first left next to the fromagerie (Route de Bellevarde) and follow this up a few hair pins until the right turn for the Chalet La Renaliere. Follow this road to the chalet, then head uphill into the woods to meet the stream bed. follow this easily to the base of the cascade.

It is possible to drive up route de bellevarde with a good 4x4, in which case there is room for 2 cars to park on the corner of the bend before the turning for La Renaliere. from here the approach is les than 10 minutes. It is better to walk from the centre of Les Houches if you are unsure of the road conditions (20-30 mins).
