Rocktype Dolerite
Altitude 351m a.s.l
Faces SW
Long expanse of columnar dolerite (locals call it 'diabase' about 1.5 hours north of Thunder Bay. There is a small campsite (free) with a hole-in-the-ground toilet and firepit at the parking spot for the Outward Bound wall, though you will need to bring drinking water if you want to stay here. Mosquitos make climbing here in the summer quite unpleasant, Autumn is definitely the best season.
To get there, drive up the Black Sturgeon Road (near to Huckett) from the Trans-Canada Highway for about 10 km.
On Crown Land so no access issues.
