Crag features

The massive limestone quarry near Coedpoeth and Minera has one superb wall of good rock characterised by a flowstone feature on its left edge.

Bolt inspection carried out today 31-03-2021, incorrect bolt used without resin for every route which means under loading these are able to pull out the wall. This needs highlighting now its made its way into the guide book. Do not climb on these.

Restricted Access

Be aware that access could be sensitive at the moment until a more formal access agreement is in place. The site is on the edge of a SSSI there are no know nesting birds on the current climbing area, further development is not permitted on the site.

The bolts are not fit to lead climb on, and pull out very easily. They’re unlikely to take any kind of lead fall. This was confirmed by the person who bolted it originally, these bolts were only ever put in temporarily until it could be bolted properly, but access was banned before that happened.

Really good crag with some very pleasant routes. Surprised it isn't more popular.

Some of the bolts seem very unusual: the eyes are far narrower than the Staples and Eco-bolts used elsewhere in the U.K. Does anyone have any information on the manufacturer and strength rating for these bolts?
