Approach notes

Drive from Hirschbach to Schmidtstadt.  In the middle of the village of Schmidtstadt take a left turn and drive (steeply) uphill to the upper part of the village (Oberschmidtstadt) and keep following the road past the village exit sign.  50m further park on a field track on the left by 6 fruit trees.  Follow the field track towards the woods (green cross walking route).  Follow this into the woods and uphill until another walking route, indicated by green circles, goes off to the left.  Follow this for 50 metres below the line of a ridge to your right.  After 50m turn right (very faint path through the leaves) towards the top of the ridge.  The crag should be just below you.
