Primarily South facing cliff overlooking Pinecrest Lake. It features excellent granite and long routes with a combination of magnificent crack climbing and sport routes.

Herring Creek Road 2.7 miles, continue onto dirt road 4N27 for 1.4 miles, the trail starts across almost always locked gate and bridge.
Follow signs for Pinecrest Trail Peak, ignore branches leading down and right, the path will be gentle uphill, then turn right onto a faint use trail marked NWO. Follow the trail more steeply up through some burned forest and come out on top of the Frankenstein amid granite formations.
There are set anchors which can be abbed off, or the to the right when facing Pinecrest Lake and the Stanislaus River, there is a brushy descent gully.
