Crag features

A huge cliff that towers over the village of Urs, with over forty routes up to six pitches in length. The routes are fully equipped, and a minumum of 50m double ropes will be needed for abseils back down the line of the routes. The crag doesn't appear to get much attention, with approaches a little overgrown and faded route names. The French topo remarks "do not be misled by first impressions - the rock is good quality". There is indeed some rather chossy looking conglomerate around, and some areas a fairly vegetated, but it is worth a visit.

The cliffs faces due south so will be hot in summer and good at other times of the year. The crag dries quickly and seepage isn't a problem.

Good topo here.

Approach notes

Park in the village of Urs and follow the track that exits the northeast corner of the houses. Head up the hill towards Axiat, turning left at the only junction. Eventually, as the main track heads uphill, a small path heads left across the hillside to reach the base of the cliff.
