Kellan Head Upper Buttress - Topo. © Mark Kemball
Catches the afternoon sun. The ledge is approx 2m wide and offers a comfortable position. Here there are routes of differing quality and severity, the finest of them being Mach 3, which perches above a steep drop.
Park at the National Trust car park at Portquin. Take the coastal footpath beside a post and rail fence. The path turns N and under the undercut base of the large, easy-angled Kellan Slab. Continue past this point(Kellan slab) for 300 meters, ascending a steep series of steps. Descend the other side and take an immediate left hand turn into the heather head towards the edge for approx 25 meters to reach a ledge at half cliff height.
