Approach notes

Approach from Chesterfield. As you start to enter Matlock and pass the Matlock golf club on the right, look for the road Lumsdale on the left and turn onto it. Park in the first parking bay on the left. Walk in the same direction and look for the bridge over Bentley Brook. Cross this and stay on the path. Head up towards the woods where the path bends to the right. At this point take the left fork and head up into the woods. At the top of the path, as it bends left, turn right. As you gain the crest there is a collection of large quarried blocks. The quarried walls are visible from there.
