Jogasaki Coast (J?gasaki Kaigan) is a beautiful of coastline on the eastern side of the Izu peninsula. About 500 routes are along that 10 km coastline. The dark volcanic rock formation creates various interesting types/shapes of cracks. Most of the routes are within 15m high and trad. As the cost line is located in Jogasaki National Park, camping is prohibited, parking is restricted and ethical issues need to be considered. The website, https://www.mountainproject.com/area/107001454/jogasaki explains the regulations and ethical issues

The main bays are Ukiyama-bashi 5.10+-5.13, Astro Dome 5.12-5.13, Seaside Rock 5.11-5.13, Otatsuiso/Family Crack 5.9-5.11 Hashidate – Igaigane 5.10-5.11

Best season: The season starts in November when Ogawayama (Japan’s most popular rock climbing area) becomes too cold to climb. In Some bays, Seaside is sometimes warm enough to climb in T-shirt in January and February. Some bays are suitable to climb in March and April.

Approach notes

Access: About 90 min driving from Tokyo. 30-40 min walk from Futo Station, Jogasaki-kaigan Station or Izu-kogen Station on Izukhyuko Line.
