Situated at the head of the Pavé basin, between Pic Nord des Cavales and Pointe des Chamois, this peak offers wonderful views of La Meije, Le Pavé, Pic Gaspard, Pic Maître, La Grande Ruin, and the Pavé and Étançons valleys.
The normal way tackles the South arête. Other ways can be found up the face overlooking the Refuge, which would allow one to descend the normal route allowing for a circular route. There are guidebooks and notes at the Refuge.
Approach from the Refuge du Pavé up either snow or scree slopes.
