A real 'old skool' venue, with stout grades and plenty of polish to contend with. The place was popular back in the 1980s and there are over 100 routes here, but the circus has moved on and the crag has returned to quiet obscurity. We have included a selection of routes around the sunny central cirque - there are some decent routes here in a peaceful setting as long as you can handle the polished holds.
The crag is sheltered, sunny and quick drying - it can get very hot here.
The crag lies below the village of Villarodin and is easily located by the huge pylon on top of the crag. It is most easily approached from below, from the minor road between Villarodin and Le Bourget. Turn into Villarodin off the D1006 and follow the minor road through the village. Shorty after leaving the houses take a sharp left turn and drive down the hill for 530m to a track on the left, there is parking just past here on both side of the road. Walk up the track for less than 200m then branch hard left up a small path that leads to the crag - 10 minutes from the car. If coming from Le Bourget, the track is on the right 480m after crossing the river and immediately after a solitary building on the right.
