Crag features

Large crag situated above Ornans. Varies in height between 10 and 20m. Base of crag is located in a woodland so is mostly in shade - apparently mosquitos can be a problem, although not in evidence in late May. Grading is on the stiff side (compared to say Portland). Rock quality is variable and poor in places.

Moderators note Feb 2019: The "Unknown Buttress" includes routes from the Jingo Wobbly France Roc 2 guide, the "Plaisir 2011..." butrresses contain the listings from the Schweiz Plaisir Jura 2011 guide, and the "Mur du Gag" buttesses contain the listings from thecrag.com.

Approach notes

Drive out of Ornans and park on the bend (47.101825, 6.114328) or in one of the two carparks for the go-ape thing in the woods. Follow the obvious path into the woods - if you can't find the cliff, just walk towards Ornans and stop when you're about to fall off! Decent campsite (Camping La Chanet) located near approach road - the showers have to be experienced to be believed - will take off a layer of skin.
