Mount Pilot hosts a series of single-pitch granite outcrops, with the usual mix of slabs and cracks. There are trad and sport routes (including plenty of carrots) that are good for beginners and intermediates. Rock quality varies, but it is a popular crag with locals being only a short walk from the carpark.
About halfway along the C377 between Chiltern and Beechworth (approximately 10 km from either), the Old Coach Road (gravel) breaks off to the northeast arriving after 2.6 km at a carpark just below the summit (-36.253767, 146.670798). Most of the walls are 5 minutes up the footpath on the right (east side), but the Bakery Wall requires walking further northwest downhill from the fire tower.
