Climbs 1
Rocktype UNKNOWN
Altitude 73m a.s.l
Very pretty gulley with a variety of a few meter high walls with lots of holds.
The gulley acts a fenced park for some goats introduced to help restore wildflowers in the area. However, it is very important not to frighten these goats and keep your distance (they have big horns to say the least).
It is important to be careful when climbing here since many of the landings are sketchy and some of the holds are fairly loose. There are also risks posed by litter, including broken glass/glass bottles.
Can be accessed via the Downs or from the Portway. Find the metal fence and walk through one of its entrances. Take note of the signs on the fences giving advice about the goats and appropriate behaviour. Follow a path through an initial section of trees and it will open out into a gulley. There are a variety of rock faces on either side of the gulley.
