South Face TOPO © Nick_Scots

Crag features

Good for traversing and micro routes. The left-hand South Face as you arrive is driest and cleanest. The right-hand East Face has some old stakes and evidence of climbers.

Quartz micro gabbro rock although some bits looks like Traprain type trachyte but more friction. According to BGS site it's a midland sill quartz microgabbro.

First ascents, probably climbed by R and A Wallace.

Approach notes

Laybys either side at the gate. Some fly tipping can be obstructing north layby.

Entertaining for an evening if care is taken with the rock and overall a nice esoteric crag (quite loose in places and landing can be sub-optimal)

Watch out when walking here. Just went today, heck of a lot of mud and cattle poop. Very boggy. Also a hell of a lot of lichen.
