Impressive twin peaks at the head of Val Veny. Thousands of walkers pass below them every year on the Tour du Mont Blanc. The best climbing is on the South peak 2689m, the North peak is slightly higher at 2726m but is composed of much poorer quality rock.
The North East Ridge of the Southern top provides a pleasant alpine rock route on variable quality rock starting directly above the quaint Rifugio Elisabetta Soldini.
Shorter sports routes have also been developed and are detailed in the Mani Nude 2 guide book to the area.
Drive along Val Veny until you reach the barrier where there is parking along the side of the road. Follow the tarmac road initially which then turns into a dusty landrover track and continue along this follwing signs to the Rif Elisabetta. A detour to Lac Combal is worthwhile.
The peak lies directly behind the Rifugio which is worth stopping at for a cappucino before starting yoru climb!
