This isolated buttress is situated half a mile north of Simonside in the wooded area (edge of recently felled woodland). The buttress is in two tiers and is easily recognised by the chimney splitting the lower tier. Climbs on the two tiers can be combined to suit ones taste. The buttress is suitable for beginners.
50 yards east is an isolated buttress with a prominent overhang. A 30 foot crack of difficult standard splits the front of the buttress
Not such a great walk in as some would have you think. Generally, park in the FC carpark, romp straight out the back and up the path to meet the forestry road, round and under the north face, then head down toward church rock. Or, head out the main car park on the track and follow the walking route to church rock.
