Shaun “Chopper” Hurrell about to abseil off Michlpauli © Paul Sagar

Crag features

A range of good multi-pitches, equipped for abseil descent. All routes appear very well bolted and the area is clearly well maintained, with a toilet near the base of Sector B, and signposts leading you up from the carpark at the bottom of a fairly steep hike. Beautiful views back over the lake, and very tranquil. Mosquitos around in the evening, so bring some repellant.

Grades given here are based on the 2007 'Klettern in Kärnten und Osttirol' book by Ingo Neumann - all routes have names and grades written at their base, and some grades vary from the guidebook, so check first. However, the grading seems very generous vis-a-vis the difficulty of the climbs.

A slightly unusual crag. Very dirty in the lower pitch of Sector A. Sector C was noted to be closed April 2022 (peregrines maybe? We saw one). Only tried "Mammut" but the comment about easy grades certainly doesn't apply. Hard to judge the crag based on one route, but wouldn't rush back...
