Rocktype Sandstone (soft)
Altitude 87m a.s.l
Faces N
Much like Maidens Bluff just a few fields distance away, this is "a large stretch of rock just below the headland". The rock is mostly solid though choss in places.
No belay stakes yet but a decent landing stretches its length. Three+ crash pads are recommended, the walls are similar in height to that of Maidens Bluff.
Access is easy and fairly obvious from the Cleveland way footpath but caution must be taken as one false move could end very badly.
(updates to follow)
You can approach from Sandsend, Kettleness or Lythe as the crag is on a crosspath (Cleveland Way) of all three villages. A sign post on the bend in the path is practically right on the corner of the east end of the crag. The crag itself is best accessed from the west, however scrambling down the bank next to the signpost isn't too bad.
There are no comments from visitors to this crag. |
