Crag features

Fully bolted sport routes on limestone between 8 and 20m. Some easier routes can be polished as this is a popular destination for beginner-intermediate local climbers. The majority of the routes are sheltered by trees, while the longer routes finish with great views onto the lake but tend to heat up in the sun. All routes have plaques with their names and grades. The crag is still being developed by locals.

Settore Quattro has recently been fully bolted and opened. This is likely the best climbing at Sangiano!

Approach notes

Drive up Via Monte Nero that starts just by the comunal building of Sangiano and park at the widened bend before the tree-lined tarred road starts for Settore 1-3. Parking here is no problem and there is space for 7-8 cars. A little path leads into the forest and up to the crag. There are benches and a topo for most of the routes.

To get to the upper tier (Settore Quattro) continue along the road until it flattens and park in the big layby on the right. Continue up the road to the nice viewpoint on the left and follow the left path just after this. Follow this for ca. 50m and then follow a small and steep path left down to the base of the crag
