Crag features
Almfjellet is a mountain in Snillfjord situated not long after the clasic ice line of Nirvana at Midgarden. The mountain features a number of moderate and steep lines that are likley yet to be climbed or if they have been, are not reported. The most prominent line is situated on the right side of Almfjellet, to the left of Polskaret which is currently un-named. Other lines are present both further left along the face of Almfjellet and also on the prow of the right most side of Polskaret.
Approach notes
Parking is along the 714 road not far after Nirvana. There is a small parking place to the huts at Langneset on Melvatnet that can be used if snow conditions allow. Alternativley 30m before this there is a layby on the side of the road next to the lake. If you go through the tunnel you have driven too far.
The approach to Almfjellet essentially follows the stream from Polskaret, through the wooded area of Pollen and the main icefall. Approach time to Polskaret is ca. 1 hour.
