Crag features

Also called Kletterbrücke Emmering this abandoned, Third Reich era, railway bridge is in a small forest which is covered in graffiti at the lower levels. Not really a nice place, especially when some illegal parties left trash everywhere. Most of the climbing is on small holes, pockets and crimps, but also some hard roofs are possible. Most lines can be easily equipped with a top-rope as the top of the bridge can be accessed from a bank at one end.

Be warned: the concrete is slippery with some polishing of the start holds on the low grade routes and the grafitti even worse, so good foot work is essential.

Beware of mosquitos in the summer and keep your valuables out of sight within reach as thefts have been known in the area.

Approach notes

Small parking bay next to the street. It is then a 3 min along the small path through the woods. For those on public transport: the bridge can easily be reached by foot from the S-Bahn station Eichenau.

Coming from Eichenau in the direction of Olching, after about 300 m, turn left to Emmering.  Follow this road for about 1 km, until you come to a forest on your right.  The bridge is just visible from the road. Turn right onto a dirt road in the forest and then immediately left park. Please do not block the way for the farmer to the field on the right. From the parking lot follow the trail that runs alongside the fence. After 100m you reach the bridge.

No Access Issues

Park your car properly (in the small parking bay on the left), don't block the farmers access to the field on the right.
